The tale of Altus Flutes begins in 1981 when founder Shuichi Tanaka envisioned a flute that would embody the essence of Japanese hand craftsmanship and engineering precision. With a dream to create instruments that inspire musicians to reach new heights of expression, Tanaka established the Altus brand in Azumino, Japan. The company quickly gained recognition for its commitment to quality, and became a preferred choice among discerning flutists worldwide. To learn more about Altus and Azumi Flutes, click here.
