Description
Andante in C Major (K315) by W.A. Mozart
Arranged for flute and piano by Franz Beyer
Mozart composed the present Andante for Flute and Orchestra at the beginning of 1778 during his stay in Mannheim, when he also wrote his Flute Concertos and Flute Quartets. The works were commissioned by a wealthy Dutchman, the “Indian” M. de Jean, Mozart's host, who wanted them for his own personal use. Presumably the single Andante was composed as an alternative slow movement for the Flute Concerto in G, K313.
