Instrumentation: 4 c flutes, optional alto flute

Four joyful carols, sprinkled with bell-like phrasing, and with equal range and treatment in all parts. Perfect for any holiday setting! Each part in these arrangements has a chance at the melody, and the parts are even in range and difficulty. Although the settings are arranged for all C flutes, many groups like to use their alternate instruments. Therefore, an alto part is included for the flute 4 part in all of the carols. The alto adds a deeper dimension to the sound,but is not necessary for a satisfying performance. The alto 4 part should always be doubled with C, since some of the octave transpositions put the alto’s melody in a less projecting way.
