Composer's Notes: The flute trio is inspired by the singing of the tropical birds on the island of Curacao in the Caribbean, namely the Chuchubi, whose song is most melodious and varied. All fast runs in the piece are idiomatic for flute. The trio is dedicated to my flute students of the band program at the International School Curacao.
