Using hymn tunes associated with Paul Gerhardt hymns, Donald Busarow utilizes thematic material from the hymn to build chorale preludes for organ and B-flat or C instrument. While all of these settings can serve as a prelude to the hymn or the service, some also work well as an organ/instrument stanza only during the singing of the hymn.
