Introduction:
      Anyone who opens this collection of duos will be able to enjoy some lovely gems from the repertoire for two flutes. This book contains original pieces from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras. Advice on articulation has been added in some – though not all – instances. Some dynamic markings have also been added, while other pieces have deliberately been left open to interpretation – as in the original.
      This book is intended for flautists who have sound basic skills in playing the flute. Providing repertoire for use in conjunction with lessons, these peices will help to develop a sense of style and form in music from various periods. They will also help build confidence in playing an independent part and awareness of aiming for good tone production and pure intonation. Another aspect of duo playing is building strength and increasing stamina. These original pieces are also eminently suitable for auditions and competitions.
