Echoes of Sarah, composed by Robert Raines
This work was debuted at the Festival of New Music, Florida State University, in January, 2007.
From the composer: “My intention was to explore the sonic landscape created by a group of instruments from the same family, an interesting effect heightened by the purity of tone produced by the family of flutes. Extremes of range, tone, texture, and tempo are explored.”
An audio CD of this work comes with the set of score and parts. Further rehearsal and programatic notes are included with the score.
Scored for 5 C flutes (flute 1 doubles on piccolo), 2 alto flutes, bass flute (bass flute may be doubled or a contrabass flute added)
Duration 11:00
