Elegie for Flute and Organ by Franz Lachner
Publisher: Amadeus
Instrumentation: Flute and Organ
Includes organ score and flute part
76- year- old Franz Lachner (1803-1890) wrote the Elegie for Flute and Organ in 1879 in the Seeon monastery. The atmospheric impression may have awakened his late-Romantic memories of the time when the young Mozart was a frequent visitor to Seeon and the monastery a center of music. It opens with an Andantino section that is quasi recitative in a minor. It quickens and changes to C Major for a contrasting and more rigid structure. This present edition is based on the first edition by Robert Munster.
