Emerald Isle March by Ricky Lombardo
Written for flute quartet
Includes score and parts
“Emerald Isle March” is a light original composition in 6/8 meter for flute quartet that is meant to portray a happy and joyful journey. This work moves along at a lively pace with pleasing melodies. The moving melodic lines coupled with the march rhythms will have you stepping to the beat. This compostion should be fairly easy to master. Rhythms are basic and instrument ranges comfortable. One will notice that on part four there are a couple of spots with alternate notes written in parenthesis. They can be played in place of the low “C's” if desired. The ending has a little bit of Celtic flare. “Emerald Isle March” is well suited for use in concert programming or as background music.
