Flourishes
Composed by Kathy Farmer
for Flute Choir
Published by Alry Publications
Includes score and parts
This piece should be played at a brisk tempo in 2. As eash new voice enters, the players with the long notes should decrescendo so the new material can be heard. The repeated rhythmic patterns should be played in a light, energetic style. The dynamics in the parts have been written so the more important material is marked louder than the supporting lines. While it is the conductor's role to balance the choir, the relative dynamics should make it easier for the performers to know what was intended.
