Description
Four Dances from Merrie England composed by Edward German
Arranged by Robert Rainford for Flute Choir; Piccolo, 4 C Flutes, Alto Flute, Bass Flute and optional Contr'alto Flute, optional Contrabass Flute, optional Sub Contrabass Flute
Includes score and parts
The four movements are titled Hornpipe, Minuet, Rustic Dance and Jig. All are beautifully melodic, with interest in all the parts. The parts are graded so that first flute needs some accurate fingering, while flute four is relatively easy. With relatively straightforward phrase structure, this is a concert piece that most groups would enjoy performing.
