He was a German inventor, who perfected the modern concert flute and improved the fingering system. He was also a virtuoso flutist, Bavarian court musician and a celebrated composer of flute music. This famous solo has been arranged for solo flute, with the flute choir replacing the piano accompaniment.
This arrangement features one of Boehm's greatest flute solos. The soloist will enjoy working out all of the technical and lyrical aspects of this piece and will be rewarded by Boehm's magnificent work. The accompaniment has some challenging sections, especially in the instances when they are the primary voice. The alto flute part has special prominence in some of the accompanimental sections.
