Innes Glas Mór composed by Lisa LeMay
“Innes Glas Mor” (“Mor” is Gaelic for “big”) is a three-movement, expanded version of Innes Glas (for Flute with optional Tin Whistle and Piano). This piece was inspired by the composer’s experiences while touring with the American Flute Orchestra in Ireland.
1) “Lovely, But Rugged”, a phrase used by locals throughout the countryside, depicts the strength and majesty of the landscape.
2) “Kylemore Abbey” portrays an oasis of peace in a restless world.
3) “Gogarty’s Pub Crawl” captures the joy and excitement of the live music found in the pubs. Dublin is well known for its “Pub Crawls” where participants, including families, walk from pub to pub, enjoying good company and fabulous music. (Gogarty’s was the composer’s favorite pub.)
Scored for tin whistle (optional), 4 C flutes (one doubling piccolo), alto flute, bass flute, and contrabass flute.
