An American composer, Garth Baxter is a modern traditionalist in style.  A simple tune based on two Jewish folk songs (“Tumbalalyka” and “Dundai”), this is beautifully arranged for flute and guitar. Although the original folk songs are generally played rather fast, the composer wanted to portray the mood of sadness and nostalgia.  To achieve that mood, La Nostalgie should not be played too quickly.  Delightful for religious occasions as well as secular ones.
