Description
Les Patineurs (The Skaters’ Waltz) by Emil Waldteufel
Arranged for flute duet by A. Cooper
Includes two scores
Duration: 7’15
Waldteufel’s lush Skaters’ Waltz is in fact 4 waltzes, composed in 1882 and inspired by the ice skating rink at the Bois de Boulogne in Paris. After a swirling introduction, the graceful waltz themes are interspersed with delicate quaver passages, and beautifully depict the skaters gliding and leaping on the ice.
