      By and large, situations beyond your control are thrust into and upon your life on a regular basis. However, those circumstances are not what define who you are; it is what you choose to do in those times that displays your true nature. 
      Head down in the storm, barely able to draw breath… putting one foot in front of the other requires an act of valor. That choice to continue, moment by moment, the decision to not succumb; that commitment is the meaning of merit. 
      A piece for Flute Choir, LionHeart sings of those silent trials and victories, invisible to the world yet spread across the entire landscape of your life. 
      Technical notes: Shifting time signatures in triple meter make for an exciting ride, with clashes in D minor and tales of victories small and large in D major and F major.
