JS Bach – Obbligatos for Flute and Piano
JS Bach Arias with flute obbligatos arranged for flute and piano by Andre Papillon.
Piano score and flute part
Most of JS Bach’s flute works are regularly played: the Sonatas, the Partita the Trio Sonatas, the 5th Brandenburg concerto and the Suite in B minor. But many instrumentalists tend to overlook the fact that some of his best flute writing is in his vocal works.
This first volume presents some movements from sacred and secular cantatas in an arrangement for flute and keyboard in which the vocal line is transferred to the right hand of the keyboard player; only the words are omitted.
In the section where the flute plays alone with the bass, the continuo figures have been provided for the players who prefer a fuller texture. — Andre Papillon
