Description
Overture to “The Barber of Seville”
Composed by Gioachino Rossini
Arranged for flute choir or flute quintet by Richard McHenry
Published by Southern Music Co.
'The Barber of Seville” is considered to be the opera buffa of all 'opere buffe' and Rossini's masterpiece. This arrangement allows for performance as either a quintet or, with the addition of one more flute, a flute choir (sextet). In both scorings, the alto flute and bass flute (or bass instrument) are necessary and cannot be replaced with all C flutes. If a bass flute is not available, a bassoon or cello may be substituted, however.
Scored for 3 or 4 C Flutes, Alto Flute and Bass Flute. Includes score and parts.
