Briccialdi – the “Paganini of the flute” – composed over 200 pieces for the instrument, mostly variations on opera themes of the day. His music is imbued with all the charm of the bel canto style, and the Portafoglio op. 67 is full of his signature style of romantic melodies and virtuoso fireworks. A great alternative to the usual Doppler and Kohler choices for the combination, this is a significant new addition to the concert repertoire for two flutes and piano.
