To the Flutist,
      Thank you for purchasing this book.  Like Most flutists you have probably played this beautiful C major Sonata by Bach.
      This book is about the 2nd movement, the Allegro.  As with many passages, many times I have had a strong urge to play certain passages through all the keys.  On other cases I am curious how this will sound with different rhythms.  In this book, I gave rein to my wild imagination.
      A. The allegro is played on the lowest key possible for the Flute starting from Bb Major through all the keys to the A major.  If you desire, you may have it even higher, just play the A-1 and so on an octave higher….  By minor seconds transpositions you will face different fingering situations and you find some even more difficult.  Knowing the piece will help in overcoming those difficulties.  The music is unique and it will “push” and support your fingering. 
      B. The rhythmic Variations use ONLY the original notes fo Bach.  No note is missing, or added….  On this basis I have made the 11 Rhythmic Variations.
      C. The first variations set is marked A.A-1 is the original, A-2 through A-12 are Rhythmic Variations.  This first set is in the Bb Major.  The next one is B-1 through B-12 on B major and so on.
