Known more today for his operas and ballet music, Reynaldo Hahn (1875-1947) composed “Romanesque” in 1910. Hahn was born in Venezuela, and moved to France with his family as a young child. He studied music at the Paris Conservatoire, where he excelled as a singer and pianist and eventually served as a conductor for the Paris Opera.
