Winner of the NFA's 2018 Newly Published Music Competition in the Two Flutes and Piano Category, “Six Souvenirs for Two Flutes and One Piano” were written in 1948 for, and premiered by John Wummer (1899-1977) and his wife Mildred Hunt Wummer with Bennett at the piano at Chamber Music Hall, City Center, New York.  In it he composed a set of six descriptive movements, each an homage to friends integral to the American flute scene of the day.

 Certainly, the names George Barrere, William Kincaid, and Verne Powell are well-known, but to Bennett they were richly colorful friends. The Six Souvenirs may be performed as a complete suite or individually. For advanced performers.
