Born in 1697, he became known as the most famous flutist in Europe. Quantz also became a flute teacher, composer and flute maker to the court of Frederick the Great of Prussia in 1740. This trio has several small movements, which are Vivace, Largo, Riguadon, Menuett and Vivace. Each of the three flutes are alternately the foundation and the soloist, which is one of the chief challenges of this trio.
