Besides being a composer, he also taught and wrote books on music.  Known for being highly eclectic in inspiration, this early 20th Century French composer was also into musical technique.   Harmony and instrumental color are generally at the fore in Koechlin's music, with is perhaps the most effective in the way it creates exquisitely shaded atmospheres.   The movements are Andante moderato, Allegro moderato, Andantino, Assez large and Allegro non troppo.
