In his commentary, Bach hoped that the study of these pieces would help players achieve a cantabile style of playing and a better understanding of music composition. The original version had no tempo or style indications and no dynamics or atriculations.  Phrasing and articulations have been added to help achieve a traditional Baroque style of playing over the pulse and meter.  Dynamics are left to the players to decide what might be appropriate for each Invention.  

In this version, there is an alternate clarinet part for the oboe, and an alternate bass clarinet part for the bassoon.
