Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings
Arranged for Flute Ensemble by Roland Kernan
Instrumentation: Piccolo (optional) and 4 C Flutes
Includes score and parts
The famous English guitarist and singer Eric Clapton was born in 1945. Before he started his solo career in the seventies, he had already made his mark in groups like the Yardbirds and Cream. As a solo artist, Clapton has many successes to his credit, such as “I Shot the Sheriff”, “After Midnight” and “Wonderful Tonight”. His moving song Tears in Heaven was written for the film “Rush” in 1991; Clapton had the dramatic death of his four-year-old son in mind while he wrote it. This song was an enormous hit worldwide, and it inspired Roland Kernan to make this arrangement for flute ensemble.
