Guilmant was a famous organist and composer. He was a prolific composer for the pipe organ and one of the most influential leaders of the late French romantic organ school along with Charles Marie Widor.
This transcription was derived from the work published by Guilmant. It has been transposed ot the higher Key of D major from the original Key of F. The melody remains in the first flute part. The goal of the ensemble is to give contrasting support to the melody.
