Autumn Reunion was written in 1989 for Vickie Carpenter and the Coastal Carolina Flutes of Wilmington, NC. Designed as a show piece for solo flute, it alternates between characteristic Charleston rhythms and a light jazz feeling. The accompaniment must be accurate and steady, allowing the solo part to be performed in a very free style.
