Subtitled “A Concert Waltz”, the square rhythm of the march-based rags is rounded and smoothed by the waltz feeling, yet the characteristic syncopation permeates the music. Bethena is very happy and lively in character and provides a bright change of pace for any concert, “serious” or pops.
