This short collection of beloved Canticles and Hymns has been arranged for Flute Trio and includes Amazing Grace, Fairest Lord Jesus, Abide With Me and Saint Clement. The arrangements are not difficult, limited as to range demands and technique. The various settings contain contrapuntal voicings and a colorful harmonic structure. Because of their relative simplicity, they are well suited to school and community chamber groups and for a great variety of social and religious functions. They are also most appropriate as an accompaniment for singing. Because of the familiarity of each of the melodies, rehearsal time can be held to a minimum, although it must be stressed that the individual performers aim for accuracy of intonation, a clear beautiful sounds and warmth of interpretation.
