Chaconne (BWV1004) by Johann Sebastian Bach
Arranged for Solo Flute by Scott Goff
Duration: 12:00 – 15:00
“Not just one of the greatest pieces of music ever written, but one of the greatest achievements of any man in history. It’s a spiritually powerful piece, emotionally powerful, structurally perfect.” – Joshua Bell, violinist
This Chaconne has been masterfully transcribed for solo flute by the recently retired Seattle Symphony principal flutist, Scott Goff. A virtuosic work challenging in both technique and interpretation, taken from Bach’s Second Violin Partita in d minor, transposed into g minor to better accommodate the flute’s range.
