A Bohemian classical composer, he was also the preferred conductor of Haydn and Beethoven for their new works in Vienna, Austria. This duet is part of a larger piece of six duo concertants written for the flute. The movements are Allegro non troppo, Menuetto with trio, Adagio and Allegro. Each movement can be performed by themselves, and do allow each part to share the melody line.
