A modern American composer, he is also a flutist and teacher.  After performing Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 along with flutist Sophia Anastasia on the brink of her due date, the composer was inspired to write her this gift, with the movement titles “Pregnant with Meaning,” “Maybe If I Dance a Jig,” “And Suddenly,” and “Introducing Little Daphne.”
