“It has been shown a buffoon's fate. His job is to amuse the public, but when he takes off his mask we can see a lonely and sad person.”
Composed in 2003, the presence in composition of east intonations and a combination of jazz chords create the original colour of the “Humoresque”. The convenience of the score has allowed some ensembles such as the Moscow brass quintet, the Uzbek Wood-wind quintet, and the string chamber orchestra of Kazakhstan to include “the Sad Humoresque” in their concert repertoire.
