“Fugue in C Major” by Danish-German composer Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707) was originally composed for organ. Given the similarities between pipe organ and flutes, the composition translates nicely for flute choir. This jaunty fugue is commonly called the “Jig” fugue for its dance-like quality set in 12/8 time.
