Here We Go Again by Mike Mower
For 2 C Flutes, Alto Flute and Bass Flute, or 3 C Flutes and Alto Flute
Includes score and parts
Here We Go Again was written by Mike Mower in 1980 for the English Flute Quartet. The instrumentation is for 2 concert flutes, alto flute and bass flute for a warm, rich sound. There are, however, optional parts included for performance on 3 concert flutes and alto flute if no bass flute is available.
This piece is in 2 main sections. The begining to [E] is a balad with a classical flavor, the melody passes from flute 1 at [A] to flute 2 at [B] and back to flute 1 at [C]. The section from [E] to [G] is a double time jazz feel with flute 2 taking the lead in the parallel harmonies. In this section, the semiquavers (sixteenth notes) should be swung. Play this piece in strict tempo, except where marked.
