Ikebana, composed by Gary Schocker
“Ikebana was composed for the Flute Society of Arizona. One of its members is a friend, and Carol is accomplished at Ikebana. I imagined a piece that would come together like a series of separate flower stems into a lifelike arrangement. The idea of flutes as flowers was a new idea for me, and the piece has a unique feel from my other pieces.” – Gary Schocker
An “ikebana” is meant to be a poem told by flowers, and takes form in the shape of lovely, meticulously placed flower arrangements.
