This edition is designed to facilitate the performer’s phrasing, dynamic contrast, clarity of articulation and overall balance in the ensemble. It is based on Boehm’s original manuscript arrangement of Beethoven’s Largo from the Piano Concerto in C Major, Op15 held in the archives of the Dayton C. Miller Flute Collection in the United States Library of Congress and the Peters Edition orchestral reduction of the same concerto.

The alternate solo part for C flute is offered to encourage more performances of this beautiful piece since the C flute is more readily available than the alto flute.
