The title means “My Girlfriend Told Me”, and was composed with great respect for the members of the traditional music community of Martinique.  It is written as a beguine, which is a syncopated duple meter and a popular dance of the French West Indies.  The form of this piece is AAB ACC ABB, and can be performed as a companion piece to the composer's flute trio Solstice.
