This three-movement suite was premiered at the 2013 NFA Convention in New Orleans by the University of Veracruz Flute Ensemble. Rubén Flores uses a variety of extended techniques (harmonics, key slaps, wind tone) in these vignettes to help tell the story of Marie Leveaux, a 19th-century Creole Voodoo practicioner.
