The author of The Night Before Christmas poem, Clement Clarke Moore, was a New York academician, and was professor of Oriental and Greek Literature at the General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church from 1823 to 1850. His fame came from this classic Christmas poem that he wrote for his two daughters in 1822. Not much needs to be said about the ballad itself, which many people can recite by heart.
The Night Before Christmas is a familiar ballad written by Clement Clarke Moore (1779-1863). This setting for flute choir by Sonny Burnette, including narrator and percussion, incorporates occasional quotes from Christmas carols along with some slightly mischievous antics. It is certain to add some Christmas cheer to the holiday season!
