These duos are somewhat apart in Kuhlau's output for two flutes.  Commissioned by the Schott publishing company, they are particularly long and have enjoyed lasting popularity ever since their 1827 release.  Probably the longest of the entire flute duo repertoire of Kuhlau, they are nevertheless much easier than the earlier similar compostions.
