Rondeau from “Symphonies and Fanfares for the King's Supper”
Mouret, a French Baroque composer known in his day for his dramatic works, is remembered now thanks to this Fanfare – Rondeau, which has been adapted as the theme music for PBS’s Masterpiece Theatre and is also quite popularly used as processional or recessional music for weddings.
Scored for 6 flutes, with the optional substitution of piccolo (for Flute 2), alto flute (for Flute 5), and bass flute (for Flute 6)
