This piece was written for John Chalmers (“Scot-Jock”) of Scotland. The program notes read as follows: “Scot-Jock is a real Scots patriot, but he also loves America, and especially Tennessee! As he visits, he tries to pick up on the American tunes, but he always goes back to his roots after whistling a few bars of those American tunes. As he does this, the old bagpipe drone is always ringing in his ears….even when whistling the American tunes!”
