Performance Notes:
      In adapting this lovely Siciliano, from the Sonata in Eb Major for flute and obbligato harpsichord, for flute choir, several departures from Bach's origianl score seemed necessary. The music was transposed up a perfect fourth, from g minor to c minor, in order to give Flute 5 the necessary range. Some harmonic fullness to the choir was added by creating a new voice, Flute 5. This provides the ensemble with a “tenor” voice, which in some cases fills in notes of the chord not present in the original. Additionally, melodic material in each of Bach's treble clef voices lend themselves to being divided into alternating voices, thus the original two treble voices became four.
      Dynamics, articulations, and ritards, have been supplied for ease of performance. In keeping with Baroque practice, these decisions were left to the performer; therefore, feel free to change any of these markings.
