Soli e Duettini
(1 playing score only)
Composer: Milton Babbitt (1989)
Publisher: C.F. Peters Corp.
Instrumentation: Flute and Guitar
Duration: ca. 12 minutes
An American composer, he was also music theorist, mathematician and teacher, and is particularly noted for his serial and electronic music. This piece was composed in his third period, in 1989. It begins with solo flute, moves into a duet between the instruments, before the guitar has its own solo section. It then finishes off as a duet, before the flute becomes the final voice in the piece. Rhythmical and time signature changes create their own way of moving the piece forward.
