Program Notes:
1. Spirit is in four movements. The movements are untitled, but the inspiration for each is as follows:
I. the beautiful rivers that flow around the city of Pittsburgh
II. the energy of the Pittsburgh flute community
III. one who inspires all
IV. the joy of making music together
2. The second movement should follow the first after only a brief pause, almost attacca.
3. Please observe the tempo and exact cut-off at the end of each movement. There are no ritards or fermatas.
