The movements of Stained Glass Images are based on stained-glass panels created during the sixteenth through the twentieth centuries, primarily throughout Europe.

III. Cockatoos

Son of the famous New York jewelry and silverware designer, Louis Comfort Tiffany earned a number of commissions to decorate the houses of the rich and famous, including a commission from President Chester A. Arthur to decorate the White House. The selected late 19th-century Tiffany window, now in the Haworth Art Gallery, Accrington, Lancashire, depicts two cockatoos in opalescent white glass in a tropical forest setting, surrounded by brilliant greens, light blues and ambers.

This movement attempts to capture the playful antics of the cockatoo through syncopated rhythms, close harmonies, trills, and gradually increasing tempo.
