3 Duos Op. 27
Composer: Beethoven
Publisher: Amadeus
Instrumentation: Flute and Bassoon (Optional clarinet in C)
Originally for clarinet and bassoon, the flute part can also be played by a clarinet in C. The first two duos are in three movements, as many sonatas were of that time–an Allegro in sonata form, short slow movement that leads directly into a Rondo-Finale. The third duo, which may have been written at a later time, is only in two movements. These movements are an expansive Allegro followed by a Variation movement that offers alternate leading roles for the flute and bassoon.
