By Genevive Davisson Fritter
Score and Parts
I. Prelude
II. Interlude
III. Finale
The structure of the Three Movemnts for Flute, Oboe and Bassoon is based on contrapuntal treatment of the various themes and the motifs within them. There is a tonal center but not necessarily a key. Occasionally there are short unison passages to tie the three parts together. It is concisely written and is more consonant than dissonant. The rhythmic motifs are an importnat element.
